If you are brave enough to attempt to enter Belarus under your own steam add at least 4 hours to your plans to allow for delays at the border.
Once you’re in the country there are plenty of filling stations on the main roads but remember you have to pay for your fuel before you fill up. If you ever encounter on-coming cars flashing their lights at you it means that there are police ahead. Ensure that you stay well within the speed limit or you risk a fine.
There are plenty of police check points on major roads but they do not seem to be staffed all the time nowadays. If you see a check-point, manned or otherwise, slow down and pass at about 10kph.
